Rural Prosperity Project
CrownCity Fields’ Rural Prosperity Project provides small holder rural farmers with proven interventions such as managed arable lands, quality seeds, fertilizer, insecticide and herbicides which is distributed directly to their communities and at the same time, we train them on modern farm practices and proper application methods. We also provide them with credit facility and facilitate market linkage.
This project entails :
Market Linkage
We facilitate market linkage by bridging the gap between the small holder rural farmers and the market which includes the agro processing companies and the general market.
Capacity building
We provide training to small holder rural farmers in their communities. These training focus on modern farm practices and proper application methods. This helps the farmers reduce cost and increase yield.
98% of the time, rural farmers have low yield due to wrong application of resources. We have come to understand that small holder rural farmers are in need of these capacity building training as much as they need the inputs for their farms.
Credit Facilities
We provide credit facilities for our member farmers through their cooperatives. The facility gives the farmers opportunity to increase production at cheaper rate. The credit facility also allows for the small holder farmers to repay with farm produce equivalent.
Input Distribution
We distribute inputs such as seeds, fertilizer, herbicides and pesticides to our farmers directly to their communities. This gives them access to quality farm inputs and also reduces their cost of logistics.
Mechanization Services
We provide mechanization and transportation services to smallholder farmers within and outside our network
